Well, let's see if Johnny Controversy can focus on the gridiron. By the way Aggie fans, Rice and Sam Houston State don't count. Johnny Manziel is an incredible quarterback and athlete and is in the running for the Heisman Trophy yet again this season. He will be severly tested this Saturday as Manziel and the Aggies host the top ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.
Alabama is led by veteran quarterback AJ McCarron, WR Amari Cooper, RB T.J. Yeldon, and WR/Special Teams ace Christion Jones. The Aggies are led by a lethal offense with QB Johnny Manziel, WR Mike Evans, and a talented group of rushers led by Ben Malena.
The key matchup to watch is Alabama's offensive line versus the Aggie defense. Texas A&M has certainly felt the loss of talented DE Damontre Moore to the NFL. The Aggie defense has struggled thus far this season including giving up 31 points to Rice and 28 to Sam Houston State. Not a standout defense to say the least.
The Crimson Tide have a young offensive line. This unit was stung by losses of starting C Barrett Jones, OT D.J. Fluker, and OG Chance Warmack. Alabama's offensive line certainly wasn't dominant in its week 1 win over Virginia Tech. Alabama only managed 96 total yards on the ground. The ground game is the Tide's bread and butter. I'm sure Nick Saban isn't happy.
Nick Saban Is the Best Coach in College Football Today
Prediction: Saban is an incredible motivator and overall head coach. Look for the Tide to look a lot more polished this week and prove why they are defending national champions. Saban won't give A&M bragging rights over the Tide for two years in a row.
