LSU Takes on Georgia in SEC Mega-Matchup

The 6th ranked LSU Tigers travel to Athens to take on #9 Georgia this Saturday.  This game will be a deciding factor in the race for Atlanta between two ultra-talented teams.  LSU is led by veteran QB Zach Mettenberger, a talented backfield headlined by Jeremy Hill, and two stud receivers in Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.  Don't overlook the Tigers defense either as they have great returning talent and appear better than Georgia's "D" at this point.

Georgia is led by a record-setting offense led by stat-sheet-stuffing QB Aaron Murray, the two-headed rushing monster of Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall, and a solid receiving corps.  Murray has already thrown for over 1,000 yards and 7 TDs.  Todd Gurley is a stud and has averaged almost 100 yards rushing this season.  The recieving corps is led by Sophmore Justin Scott-Wesley who has 10 receptions for 234 yards and a touchdown.  The biggest concern for Georgia this season and in this game is their largely inexperianced defense.

LSU-QB Zach Mettenberger

Mettenberger is finally coming home.  Or near home that is.  Zach Mettenberger of Watkinsville, GA,  signed with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2010, but then got dismissed from the team before his first season.  Mettenberger then enrolled at Butler Community College in El Dorado, KS before eventually transfering to LSU for his Sophmore season.  He started for LSU last season and threw for 2,609 yards and 12 TDs.  This season Mettenberger has looked more comfortable under new offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and is on pace to have an even better Senior campaign.

Georgia-RB Todd Gurley

Gurley for Heisman? The Sophmore RB had a breakout true Freshman season in 2012 rushing for 1, 385 yards and 17 touchdowns.  In 2013, Gurley has already amassed 377 yards and 4 TDs.  He is one of the top backs in the nation and makes a huge impact whenever he totes the rock.

This game will have a huge impact on the SEC race.  It will be a physical slug-match between two BCS title hopefuls.  The game will be close and high-scoring, but Georgia has Todd Gurley.

Georgia outscores LSU and the Bulldog defense does enough to get the win.  Georgia 35-LSU 28
