SEC Football: What Bowl Season Should Look Like

I can't wait for the new CFB Playoff in the 2014 season. It's going to be a great thing for college football and hopefully it will be more fair. Although I have and still support an 8-team playoff at least the current 4-team playoff model will be better than the current BCS system. College football will still be keeping the bowls though which I am happy about. With that being said, the SEC needs to play even tougher opponents in the postseason. Here is my proposed model.

1. Sugar Bowl (New Orleans, LA)
SEC vs. Big 12 (conference champ unless in playoff)
Example: Alabama vs. Oklahoma

2. Cotton Bowl (Arlington, TX)
SEC vs. PAC-12
Example: Florida vs. UCLA

3. Florida Citrus Bowl (Orlando, FL)
SEC vs. Big Ten
Example: LSU vs. Wisconsin

4. Peach Bowl ( Atlanta, GA)
Example: South Carolina vs. Louisville

5. Outback Bowl
SEC vs. Big 12
Example: Ole Miss vs. Baylor

6. Oil Bowl ( Houston, TX)*
SEC vs. PAC 12
Example: Vanderbilt vs. Arizona

7. Gator Bowl ( Jacksonville, FL)
Example: Arkansas vs. Miami

8. Indy Bowl ( Indianapolis, IN)*
SEC vs. Big 10
Example: Miss State vs. Illinois

9. BBVA Compass (Birmingham, AL)
Example: Missouri vs. Connecticut

*new suggested bowl game

This is just a blueprint for a revamped postseason that includes the SEC Champ vs. Big 12 Champ if not In playoff, games against the PAC-12 , some new postseason destinations, etc.
